What counts as an experiment, how we control variables, and how to suggest one.

Any kitchen test where the result was genuinely unknown before we started. A controlled comparison (salted vs. unsalted pasta water), a time or temperature variable (sous-vide at 55°C vs 60°C), or a technique audit (does resting meat actually matter?). If the answer was pre-determined, it's a recipe — not an experiment.
