About

I love eating food. I love making food. I love talking food.

I’ve always been curious about food—not as a professional or a critic, but as someone who just loves trying things. I’ll scroll through recipes for hours, watch cooking videos in languages I don’t understand, and tinker in the kitchen to see what works (and what doesn’t). Plating and presentation fascinate me too, even though I’m still learning every day.

I really look up to people like the team at Serious Eats and Kenji López-Alt—the way they combine curiosity, detail, and joy in their work inspires me. I don’t claim to be anywhere near that level, but I’d love for this site to grow into something that sparks the same excitement for exploration, even if in my own scrappier way.

This space is my open food diary: a mix of restaurant notes, recipe experiments, and random food adventures. You can use it to find my favorite spots, see which ones weren’t worth the hype, or just get ideas for something new to cook. My reviews aren’t about being “right” or “wrong”—I keep it simple and think about price (ROI), vibe, quality, and taste. Food is personal, after all. What feels “meh” to me could be someone else’s favorite meal.

More than anything, I want this to be a community for fellow food experimenters—people who get excited about discovering new ingredients, geeking out over kitchen gear, or finding that one perfect bite.

So feel free to use this site however it helps: planning a trip, finding a dish to try, or just following along with my experiments. And if you’ve got a restaurant or recipe I should check out, send me a DM at @mrkennytsai—I’d love to hear from you.
