I'm glad I got to try out Tonchin's ramen before I left NYC. Definitely make a reservation if you want to try Tonchin NYC out. I arrived there a couple minutes before opening, and there was already decent sized queue. By the time I was seated, the restaurant was already completely packed. The vibe is pretty casual. The restaurant feels a little crowded and slightly loud, the perfect environment to cozy up and eat a bowl of ramen during the NYC winter.

Service was quick and efficient. We were quickly seated, and orders were taken without much wait. Throughout the meal, service was always attentive, and dining there was a very enjoyable experience.

The gyoza was a great choice for an appetizer. It not only looked and sounded delicious from the loud sizzling and steam, it tasted amazing. The soy sauce blend was the perfect mixture between salty, spicy, and tangy and the everything about the gyoza was perfect. I would definitely order again.

I also ordered the spicy tan tan ramen. While I still liked their version of spicy tonkotsu ramen, I personally didn't love the flavor combination as much, even though all the ingredients individually tasted amazing. I probably wouldn't reorder this again, but their other ramens like the smoked dashi and miso ginger looked amazing as well.

I definitely recommend Tonchin NYC to anybody who hasn't tried it yet. It's a great value Michelin restaurant for its price, and I'm looking forward to the next time I come here again.
